How Sister Thea Impacted Me:
People journey on their quest for holiness. It
just does not "fall" upon us nor do we "fall" into it. The path can be arduous
and frightening. It can all lead us through moments of intense joy and
celebration. I see this as the path which Sister Thea chose to follow. She
was not afraid to walk outside of her normal comfort zone. She knew what God
wanted of her and she said yes. It is this availability to the plan of God that
I admire in Thea. She stands as one who, while proudly rooted in her faith and
culture, transcends them and becomes a model for us all. Her belief in the power
of learning and education should inspire all us, especially educators, to help
provide access to a sound learning experience for those who lack access to the
best education available.
I am proud to be associate with this foundation and the devoted women and men
who serve it as well as those whom we have helped over the years.
