Partnership Moving Forward in Software Development
Monmouth University’s Rapid Response Institute, in partnership with Saint Francis University’s CERMUSA, came one step closer to developing specifications for software that can simulate emergency preparedness tabletop exercises. On January 15, 2008, staff from both universities held a workshop at Saint Francis University with local emergency medical services personnel from Johnstown, Bedford, Cresson, and Cambria County to gather user requirements for the All Hazards Exercise Training Tool. The participants provided valuable feedback about what key components they would like to see built into the application. The participants were excited about the possibility of being able to use the software to train at their own facility and at their own convenience. They also thought it would be a great tool for newly hired employees who have limited on-the-job experience. Dr. Barbara T. Reagor, Director of the Rapid Response Institute, praised CERMUSA for their work on the project. “Our partners make the difference, and CERMUSA has been an outstanding partner,” Dr. Reagor said.
